I'm Ellen and along with my Husband Jonathan, we run a highly successful Ofsted registered Childminding Setting from our home in Burley in Wharfedale, LS29.

We are Nursery Education Funded and can offer free childcare to children aged 2-3 and 3-4 years who meet the specified criteria.

We have three children of our own, two girls who are 7 and 5 and a  little boy who is 2.  Our two daughters attend Burley Woodhead Primary School in the village of Burley in Wharfedale.

My husband and I are both non-smokers and we have no pets other than our 10-year old fish.

I am very passionate about my job in childcare and have been childminding for eight years.  Childminding has opened many avenues for me and as a result, I hold a Level 6 qualification (Cert.EYP) in the Early Years and I am about to begin studying my final year of a BA in Early Years and Childhood Learning with the Open University.

In August 2014, my Governing Body Ofsted, inspected our Childminding Setting and here's what they said;

  • "Quality of teaching is outstanding. The childminder is adept at identifying when to intervene and when to stand back, ensuring that children are supported to become confident and self-assured critical thinkers."  Ofsted 2014

    "The warm and caring nature of the childminder means that she forms strong relationships with the children and their parents. As a result, children's emotional well- being is supported very well and they have a firm foundation, enabling them to be highly motivated and engaged learners."  Ofsted 2014

All children within our setting grow to become extension of our own family and right from the very start, are offered a stimulating environment in home from home setting where they unknowingly learn through exploration. By offering challenging yet exciting environments and situations, children develop into confident and inquisitive individuals and most of all, have LOTS of fun both indoors and out in the big wide world.

Children's development progress is individually planned for and exercised in accordance with my curriculum guidance, the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the child's individual likes and dislikes, building on their own skills and interests.
